This 2-day BRUCCpro Masterclass gives participants the chance to catch up on the latest science news related to self-compassion. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to explore what self-compassion can mean thanks to a number of core exercises both for themselves and for their clients.

- Understanding how self-compassion can help people cope with difficult moments in their lives and increase their resilience.
- Experiencing what self-compassion means in one's own life
- Some practical tools to develop self-compassion
This masterclass is aimed at mental health professionals.
Speakers: Janis Whitlock & Lydia Castiglione
Janis Whitlock is a research scientist and senior lecturer at the Cornell University (US) . In addition, she is the founder and director of the Cornell self-harm and recovery research program as well as a founder and first president of the ISSS. She is also deputy director of education and training for the Bronfenbrenner Center forTranslational Research. Known internationally for her foundational work at NSSI, she now specializes in bridging science, practice and policy in areas related to adolescent and young adult development, with a focus on issues related to social and emotional development.
Lydia Castiglione is clinical psychologist and has over 10 years of expertise in mindfulness as well as experience in national and international (research) projects. Previously, she was a senior lecturer at the Institute of Attention and Mindfulness, but now focuses mainly on her doctoral research on self-compassion.
